Helping young people with disabilities transition from living at home to living independently is a core service of Center for Independece!

Independent Living Skills Topics include:

  • Goal Setting
  • Hygiene
  • Personal Safety
  • Time Management
  • Stress Management
  • Sex Education
  • Advocacy Skills
  • Learning about how to speak up for myself and other people Learning about my rights as a person with a disability
  • Learning about the voting process Learning about how the government works and the legislative process

YETI and PACT are different programs helping youth with disabilities learn new skills, connect with others and have fun while you do it! Both programs cover many items related to independent living; YETI puts a priority on developing job skills and other vocational related priorities. PACT puts a prioirty on learing various skills related to living independently. Both youth groups are fun and filled with opportunities to learn new skills and meet new friends.
